INGREDIENTS: Oil, Avalu (mustard seeds), Jeera (cumin seeds), Urad dal (vudhiballu / vudhipappu), Chenna dal (bengal gram / senagapappu), Curry leaves, Coriander, Onions, Green chillies, Salt, Turmeric, Fresh Alasandhalu (black eyed peas)
PREPARATION:
- Take fresh alasandhalu and clean well with water
- If you dn't get fresh alasandhalu, make it using the one available in market
- Soak them in water for 1 night , boil them in pressure cooker and drain water completely
- Place frying pan on flame, heat 2 spoons of oil
- Add avalu, jeera, urad dal, chenna dal and fry well
- Add curry leaves, cut green chillies, chopped onions and fry till transparent
- Add alasandhalu, salt, turmeric and mix well
- Close the lid for 5 minutes and cook in medium flame
- Add chopped coriander, mix well, off flame
- Dishout and serve
- Tastes good as an snack
- Healthy for all ages and groups
- For kids you can add less chilly or just add chat masala to plain boiled black eyed peas and serve
