INGREDIENTS: Dry coconut, Red chillies, Jagri (bellam), Dhaniya (coriander seeds), Salt, Tamarind paste, Onion, Turmeric powder, Garlic pieces, Curry leaves, Coriander, Beerakaya (ridge guard)


PREPARATION:
  • Take mixy jar, grind well all the ingredients in to a fine paste other than ridge guard
  • Peel of the outer layer of ridge guard
  • Cut them into four large pieces
  • Make plus (+) slit on it without cutting till edge
  • Stuff the grinded mix into the ridge guard pieces
  • Now take frying pan, heat 3-4 spoons of oil in it
  • Add jeera, place the stuffed pieces in it
  • Sprinkle little salt, red chilly powder on top
  • Close the lid and cook in medium flame
  • Keep on turning every once 5 minutes
  • If left out with gravy, just place it in middle after ridge guard is half cooked
  • Cook till soft , takes around 10-15 minutes
  • Garnish with coriander, dish out
  • Goes well with rice, chapathis.


USING MICRO WAVE:
  • Place stuffed ridge guard pieces in an oven safe bowl
  • Now microwave it for 10 - 15 minutes
  • Take out of oven
  • Garnish with coriander
  • Serve hot
  • Tastes good with rice...especially
