INGREDIENTS: Oil, Avalu (mustard seeds), Jeera (cumin seeds), Curry leaves, Coriander, Green chillies, Turmeric powder (pasupu), Salt, Onions, Tomatoes, Toor dal (kandhipappu)


PREPARATION:
  • Take an pressure cooker
  • Heat 2-3 spoons of oil
  • Add avalu, jeera, curry leaves, coriander & wait till splitter
  • Now add cut onions, green chillies
  • Then add turmeric powder, salt, cut tomato and saute it
  • Finally add cleaned toor dal, water (1glass dal requires 2 glasses of water)
  • Now close the cooker lid and wait for 3-4 whistles
  • Once pressure goes off from the cooker, open lid drain of excess water slowly if any
  • Finally take out into serving bowl
  • Garnsh with coriander
  • Serves good with rice, chapathis
Using that excess water you can prepare dal water rasam..
