INGREDIENTS: Oil, Avalu (mustard seeds), Jeera (cumin seeds), Raddish, Pepper, Salt, Toordal (kandhipappu), Red chillies, Onions, Tomatoes, Turmeric, Tamarind pulp, Curry leaves, Coriander, Dhaniya powder
PREPARATION:
- Clean toor dal and boil it softly for 4-5 whistles
- Cool it and hand blend till soft
- Now place cooker on flame, heat 3-4 spoons of oil
- Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, Curry leaves, red chillies and wait till they splitter
- Now add long cut onions, turmeric and fry for a while
- Now add cut raddish, and fry for few minutes
- Then add cut tomatoes, salt and saute well
- Add a spoon of pepper, 1/2 spoon of dhaniya powder and mix well
- Then add required quantity of tamarind pulp and mix well all the ingredients
- Finally add boiled & hand blended toor dal and close the cooker lid
- Wait for 2 whistles, off flme, owait till pressure goes off and dish out
- Garnish with coriander & serve
- Serves good with rice, chapathis, dosas...
