PREPARATION:
- Place cooker on flame, heat 2-3 sppons of oil
- Add jeera, split chillies and fry for a while
- Now add 1 glass of green gram and fry for 2 minutes
- Then add 1 glass of raw rice, 7 glasses of water, pinch of turmeric, salt
- Mix well all the ingredients and close the cooker lid for 3 whistles
- Mean while, take samll spatula, heat 2 spoons of ghee in it
- Add jeera, beaten peppercorns or pepper, few cahsews, salt and fry
- Once cooker is cooled, open the lid add the fried cashews and mix well
- Spicy spicy kara pongal is ready to serve
- Tastes good with ground nut chutney or onion raitha or onion pullakura
