INGREDIENTS: Oil, Avalu (mustard seeds), Jeera (cumin seeds), Urad dal (vudhipappu), Bengal gram (senaga pappu), Red chillies, Salt, Mudi biyyam (cleaned and dried rice)


PREPARATION:


  • Clean raw rice using water
  • Pat dry them on soft cloth for a day or two
  • This can be stored for many days and are known as mudi biyyam
  • Now place, cooker on flame, heat 2 spoons of oil in it
  • Now add avalu, jeera, urad dal, bengal gram, red chillies and fry for a while
  • Then add 1 glass of rice and 2-3 glasses of water
  • Mix well, add required amount of salt
  • Close the lid for 3 whistles
  • Once the cooker is cooled, open the lid and serve
  • Tastes good with any curries, vuppu merapakayalu, pachadis .....
  • Garnish with curd chillies or salt chillies (vuppu merapakayalu)
